In partnership with Creative Capital, The Center for Fiction is presenting two of their grantees, the clever and intriguing Deb Olin Unferth and Ben Marcus, reading from their newest work. Unferth’sRevolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War tells the story of her journey as a college student following her boyfriend to El Salvador in 1987 to join the revolution, and the harsh reality that sets in once they get there. Marcus will read from his forthcoming book The Flame Alphabet, about a dystopian world where language is toxic to everyone but children.
This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. through public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
